We’re proud to offer complete or partial solar system installations on any recreational vehicle. All of our RV solar systems provide plenty of energy to run normal 12V DC electronics (lights, vent fans, USB outlets, etc.) and small 120V AC electronics (phones, laptops, TVs, etc.) for a very long time, as well as moderate use of larger appliances (air conditioners, microwaves, hair dryers, etc.). The larger your system’s battery bank, the more power you’ll have to use. The more solar you have, the faster you can recharge your battery bank!

It was a pleasure to work with Elyse and Adam to have our Class A motor home fitted with a comprehensive photo-voltaic system. Our 37' class A motor home is a 50A unit with two A/Cs, microwave, and washer/dryer. We bought a 10-panel (2KW)/5 battery (206AH each; 1030AH total) system which has provided us with amazing comfort and convenience.One trip our surge suppressor failed but indicated normal operation, so we connected via a 30AH converter and limited incoming power to 28AH. Forgetting I had lowered the threshold from 48AH to 28AH (to avoid over-drawing the pedestal), we continued to run both A/C units, used the microwave, and used the washer and dryer. Because the load was split between shore power and our Great Outdoors Solar PV system, everything worked seamlessly.I will add that, following the issue with that low-cost Amazon surge suppressor, we bought both the Hughes Big Dog surge suppressor and their Hughes Autoformer. It is nice being able to use my phone to check both the pedestal and the PV system.It's a joy to be able to have the front A/C unit on while traveling without having to run the generator. It was only after we had the system installed and operating that we met Tom. He's built a great business and I hope you're as pleased with the system you get from them as we are with ours!
From start to finish, this company was absolutely amazing to work with. Starting with the estimate stage, they had unbelievable patience and their knowledge of solar and RV battery systems was remarkable. I asked a lot of stupid questions and they were extremely understanding and took their time explaining everything to me in a way that I could understand. I must of called 4 different times and each time they were glad to answer my questions without rushing.......they made sure that I understood everything and was comfortable with my decisions.The lithium battery install by Adam was first class. He is a perfectionist and you sure can tell by looking at the finished product. He takes extreme pride in his work and uses only the best parts and accessories. Great Outdoors Solar installed 1200 watts off solar on our New Horizons fifth wheel and everything about the experience was top notch. Tom, Adam, and Elyse were all super helpful
Thomas and his team at Great Outdoors Solar is the best. They installed a 3200W system on the top of my 2017 New Horizons Majestic fifth wheel and I still have room to get around up there. The dual Victron Quattro inverters allow me to run both air conditioners and the six Battle Born GC3 give me over 1600 amp hours. After the install, I took the RV to have a new generator installed and they were so impressed by the solar work. They asked for Tom’s name and number. Due to my ignorance I am also relying on there after sales support and it too has been stellar. You cannot go wrong at Great Outdoors Solar. I attached a few pictures.

They respected my request for item locations. I reached out to them a few times for clarification and with a few questions. Tom and his staff at Great Outdoors Solar are just the best! Tom's company did the DC to DC chargers and inverter on my Northern Lite Truck Camper. I spoke to several installers before choosing Great Outdoors Solar. I new immediately Tom was my guy. My system works flawlessly and I am very happy with the service and installation. It is amazing! I am making my own power for off grid situations. My system runs my AC unit and supplies all my power needs. I can't recommend them enough.
Thomas and his team completed a full solar install on our travel trailer. They are very knowledgeable and our multiple calls / questions were answered promptly. Our system works great for our full time needs and we would absolutely use them in the future.

Great Outdoor Solar updated my battery system with lithium batteries. Excellent workmanship, knowledgeable, neat and well done with quality parts. When tested a breaker malfunction was identified. (Not related to the battery upgrade) Tom traced the issue and graciously repaired it without charge. He apparently was not about to let me leave with even the slightest potential electrical issue. I highly recommend Great Outdoor Solar.

Very good experience working with Thomas & Stacy on our travel trailer solar install. Very professional and thorough in the prep & installation. They kept us well informed on the process every step of the way. I video recorded his orientation on how to use all of the features of the system and find it very useful as it is a little overwhelming to try and remember all of the new functions of the solar setup. We love the capabilities that it provides for us to be able to camp anywhere.
Great overall experience. Thomas designed a system for our class A coach based upon our energy needs for short boondocking trips. The installation was very professional with all components tucked away and tidy. Their orientation and documentation was very thorough and all questions have been answered.In short we are very pleased with the results and would definitely use them again if we want to upgrade our system or even change rigs. Great service, fair price, wonderful people.
I am beyond impressed with the solar install TheGreatOutdoorssolar performed on my class A RV. They fit me into their busy schedule when I only contacted them a few weeks before the install. Thomas planed out the system and all the equipment needed by listening to my power needs when we dry camp. At no point did I feel uneasy about how the wires were routed or how the panels were mounted. Their attention to detail shows and I am rest assured knowing my family including our dog is safe from any potential hazards from inferior products , or lack of workmanship!

Thomas and Stacey did a review of a solar installation I had done prior to their business opening (or I would have gone to them). I never felt like it worked as it should. And sure enough, Thomas found some issues. They upgraded what needed to be done. They were very professional and courteous and fast! I am so grateful that they decided to make a business of their vast knowledge! And my solar works like a charm now!!
The Wests planned and installed our solar/inverter system in mid January 2021 while we were wintering in Florida. We're back on the road traveling west and enjoying the freedom Thomas and Stacy gave us with our hybrid system. Batteries keep our refrigerator going on travel days, boost our power on 30 amp sites and keep us going when boondocking for a few days. Just what we want. We are really looking forward to our solar install and the freedom it will give us as we travel off-grid. We recommend Thomas and Stacy to anyone that is thinking about solar power as the install was done very professionally and in a timely manner.
While we did not have a full solar install, we needed to upgrade our standard battery bank from 2 batteries to 3 Battle Born lithiums with a battery monitor as well. We knew we wanted Thomas & Stacy to do the work for us, as we had been impressed with their solar install video series and knew they were people we could trust to do a great job. We were NOT disappointed! They completed the job quickly, and professionally, and had all the equipment and tools to get it done.I could not recommend them higher! We love them and our new system!
I recently had the enjoyable experience of having Thomas and Stacy of Great Outdoors Solar complete the solar installation on my Lance travel trailer. I had followed their previous installations on their own RV so I pretty much knew what I wanted. I purchased all the parts and began the installation myself. As I neared the end of the project, I realized that I needed some professional expertise to complete the install. I decided to have Great Outdoors Solar complete the job and I am so happy I did. Their customer service was great, their price reasonable and the quality of their work was top notch. The work was completed on time. Thomas and Stacy go the extra mile when they installed our System! The attention to detail is amazing, right down to putting red and black tape marking the battery cables so you know where to put them back if you need to remove your batteries. They even cleaned up dirt they found from the factory build. Thomas wants you to know exactly what you are getting and why. This is very important when you are using the system. You will not be sorry for spending the money on their installation. We felt guilty that we didn't pay them more for their Service.

The attention to detail is impressive; down to the smallest wire harness. The workmanship was impeccable.
